House Plan Description
The Ascott plan encompasses great vintage lines that recall strokes of genius from 19th-century British architecture and blissfully marry history with a contemporary sanctuary. Prevailing summer breezes will find their way from the enchanting double portico, through many joyful rooms, to the rear veranda.
French doors and bay windows invite fresh air and panoramic views into the private and public realms of the Ascott which can flex to suit the changing lifestyles of the owners. The foyer of the Ascott plan centers the study on the left and the dining room on the right. Two stately columns invite guests into the great room with a cozy fireplace and built ins on each side of the fireplace.
The gourmet kitchen has a pass-thru to the great room for that open concept feel. There is a large center island for extra counter space and a large walk in pantry for those small appliances and canned goods. The kitchen opens to the breakfast nook that overlooks the rear veranda through walls of glass windows. An outdoor kitchen on the veranda is the perfect setting for entertaining friends and family.
To the left of the foyer is the Ascott master retreat. The master foyer leads past the large walk in closet to the master bedroom. There is an access to the rear veranda from the master bedroom. There is a second walk in closet next to the master bathroom. There is a corner Whirlpool soaker tub and separate walk in shower. Dual sink vanities complete the master bathroom.
A friends' entry and side staircase leads to secondary and guest quarters, which could accommodate a live-in relative or teenager, or grow into a game room for the whole family. A gallery loft on this level sports a built-in desk and shelves overlooking a spectacular great room and leading to a sun porch.
Overall, the Ascott house plan has 3468 square feet of living area, and has four bedrooms and four and 1/2 bathrooms. The plan is designed with a slab/stem wall foundation.

What Plan Format Should I Order?
At Sater Design, we’re all about creating your dream home and making the process as easy as possible for you. Therefore, the plan format you select will depend on your situation. For your convenience, we sell our plans in 3 basic plan formats: printed on Vellum paper, in electronic PDF file format, and electronic AutoCAD files. AutoCAD is the name of the program that is used to create the plans. There is no “correct” or “better” plan format, it all depends on your individual needs. Each plan format has its benefits and some are more versatile than others.
Print Vellum: The most popular plan format our customers order is the Print-Vellum format. This plan format gives you a set of plans printed on Vellum paper that you can show your builder. Copies can be made as needed– see the Plan Licensing Information page for more details. The Vellum paper is erasable (using a special architect’s eraser) so added notes or minor changes can be made to the plans if needed. The Vellum plan format is the most expensive to ship.
PDF Electronic: The second most popular plan format is PDF, which is an electronic file format. We email you the plan as a set of electronic PDF files. This plan format provides the most expedient way to receive the plans. Your local blue print shop can make prints as needed. Again, see the Plan Licensing Information page for more details on making copies. The PDF plan format is an electronic file, but it is not editable so changes can be more difficult to make.
CAD Electronic: If you need to make changes or alterations to the plan, you will need to order the plan in electronic AutoCAD plan format. Anyone with the AutoCAD program and knowledge of how to use it — which most builders do –will be able to open the files and make changes to them. Your builder or local blue print shop can make prints from the AutoCAD files (see the Plan Licensing Information page for more details). There AutoCAD files come on a USB flash drive and is shipped with your plan licensing information packet.
